Robert Pattinson makes first appearance since Kristen Stewart scandal - pictures

By
Robert Pattinson has thanked his fans for their constant support as he made his first public appearance since news of Kristen Stewart's alleged affair with director Rupert Sanders emerged.

The Cosmopolis star, looking suntanned and sophisticated in a cornflower blue Gucci suit, walked the red carpet for the film's New York City premiere as planned on Monday (August 13), where he was overwhelmed by the fan reaction which greeted him.

"Every time I've done [a premiere] in New York it's pretty crazy, but there's absolutely no way to sign anything. That's the only problem," Pattinson told Access Hollywood.

"It's great," he said of the fan reaction and support. "It's wonderful."

The actor is said to have banned questions relating to girlfriend and Twilight co-star Kristen Stewart's recent fling with Snow White and the Huntsman director Rupert Sanders.

Cosmopolis opens on Friday, August 17 in the US.
