Alexandra Burke: 'I get upset when people call me a diva'

By
Alexandra Burke has hit out against suggestions that she is "a massive diva".

The X Factor winner claimed that she still gets "upset" by the "horrible stuff" people make up about her character.

"A few online stories said I was this massive diva, which I'm not," she told Metro. "That's the only thing I've ever read that's upset me.

"I don't know where that came from but people make up horrible stuff - it comes with the job."

Burke also admitted that she is "a nervous wreck" over her upcoming guest stint in West End musical Les Misérables for Children in Need's 'Pop goes the Musical'.

"I'm singing 'On My Own', which is the big song from the musical," she revealed. "It's a great honour.

"I've always enjoyed going to the theatre and seeing musicals. In terms of it being an ambition [to appear in musicals] and something I wanted to do in the future - I've never crossed it off.

"There's more I'd like to achieve right now... it's an awesome road to go down but when you go down it you stay there."

Burke recalled in March how she was reduced to tears on a photo shoot when a photographer said they'd heard she was "a bitch".
