Named Truly Scrumptious by Heidi Klum, the Project Runway host told InStyle the collection was inspired by her four children - Leni, Henry, Johan and Lou.
"They inspire me just by knowing what their favourite things are," she said. "I figured it out by the kids just telling me what they needed."
She added: "The theme dinosaur, for example, and monsters - those are things that age group is attracted to. You want something, when they are that age group, that is for them, and not for mom. I think when you go more infant, you are buying something for yourself as the mom. So you have to kind of think about that."
Klum admitted she's been working on her collection for a year and a half, explaining: "It takes time to really go through every piece. Sometimes when things are drawn or on paper, they look very different from when you get them."
Truly Scrumptious, available on September 15, features clothes for boys and girls as well as accessories, bedding, room decor, furniture and baby gear.
Project Runway airs on Thursdays at 9pm on Lifetime.
