The singer released Life is a Rollercoaster in 2001, but has now said that he wishes he had waited until later in life.
"Really that book was a little premature. I was a kid when I wrote that," Keating told Smooth Radio Book Club presenter Lynn Parsons.
"I came out of a successful boyband and my solo career was doing well. [There were] all these offers on the table to do a book.
"I would have said, 'Don't - wait'. I could write a hell of a book right now.
"I mean what's happened since, losing Stephen [Gately], you know everything that's happened in my life, separating from my wife - that book just got far more interesting, that's for sure."
The Boyzone star cheated on wife Yvonne with a dancer in 2010. The couple officially announced their split in April this year after 14 years of marriage.
Keating has admitted that he is still struggling to come to terms with the separation and was most recently reported to be devastated after Yvonne found a new boyfriend.
