The Twilight star revealed he never wants to feel completely comfortable with acting, insisting that he's a better actor when he's afraid he'll never work in Hollywood again.
"I think as soon as you feel validated, you're a bad actor," Pattinson told MTV News.
"You have to constantly feel that there's a 99% chance of failure," he went on. "Total failure. Devastating failure.
"You should feel like every single job is the potential where you're never going to get another job again," he added. "Not in a bad way - you should feel good about it, because then you're in it. It's all about living in the present."
The 26-year-old recently slammed the media interest surrounding his relationship with Kristen Stewart.
