Kathleen Turner and Rufus Sewell - two actors normally associated with the big screen - have won top acting awards for their stage work in London.
Turner was given the Best Actress gong at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards last night for her role as Martha in the revival of Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?
The Romancing the Stone star said: "As an American actress I have had two Tony nominations before. But I have such great admiration for the quality of British theatre that I am truly thrilled."
Sewell scooped the Best Actor award for Tom Stoppard's play Rock 'n' Roll. "It's unbelievable, it doesn't bear thinking about," said the 39-year-old actor, best known for leading roles in Dark City and Martha, Meet Frank, Daniel and Laurence.
