The former Coronation Street star took to the social networking site to complain of her boredom in Wales. She moved there to support her footballer boyfriend Scott Sinclair, who plays for Swansea City.
Flanagan, 22, tweeted: "Started to get bored now, been in Wales too long, Lol. Must take action."
The actress was quickly inundated with angry responses. One user responded: "F**k sake get a job, at least that way you wont tweet utter drivel."
However, Flanagan defended herself: "Anyway... I will tweet what I want to tweet. If I want to say I'm bored I can do that."
She has also come under fire from Swansea fans who claim she is the reason that Sinclair may transfer away from the team to Manchester City. Fans suggest that this is so she can return to Corrie.
She also denied this: "@mattyhuzi you've got to be joking right? People don't base important decisions in their career on their relationship."
Flanagan left Coronation Street earlier this year after 12 years on the long-running soap.
