LL Cool J and family "safe" after burglary attempt

LL Cool J and his family are "safe" after the actor subdued a suspected burglar at their family home, according to the star's representative.

A 59-year-old suspect named Jonathan Kirby apparently tried to break into LL Cool J's LA home on Wednesday, only to be confronted by the star.



Law enforcement sources have disclosed that the NCIS: Los Angeles actor physically detained Kirby in his kitchen until police arrived to arrest the subject on a burglary charge.

A spokesperson for LL Cool J has now confirmed that the star suffered no serious injuries in the scuffle.

"LL Cool J, and his family, are safe and thank everyone for their thoughts and concern. As a father, husband and citizen, he is committed to keeping his family safe and is co-operating with authorities on this private matter," his representative said in a press statement.

It has been reported that suspected burglar Kirby was briefly hospitalised after his arrest, but was ultimately transferred to a nearby jail.
