The BBC Radio 1 DJ has parted ways with longtime agent Vivienne Clore in order to launch a television career on ITV, reports The Sun.
Moyles will present his last ever breakfast show on the radio station on September 14, before Nick Grimshaw takes over later in the month.
A source said: "Chris is at that stage where he needs to move up the showbiz ladder and he thinks Ant and Dec's management firm, James Grant, can make it happen.
"It's all amicable with Vivienne as she knew the writing was on the wall.
"For someone with a gigantic ego like Chris, it's vital that he has a mainstream outlet."
The broadcaster's Channel 4 series Chris Moyles' Quiz Night is also reportedly facing the axe, as there are "no imminent plans" for it to return.
Vernon Kay, Davina McCall, Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield are also among James Grant's list of TV clients.
Chris Moyles will play King Herod in the revived production of Jesus Christ Superstar from September 21.
