Ten paintings by Pink Floyd legend Syd Barrett have been sold at auction for more than £55,000.

The artwork was part of a larger batch of 77 belongings from his Cambridgeshire home that fetched £119,000 in total.

The most expensive single item was an abstract painting that was sold for £6,000, whilst a stool decorated by the star went for £4,400.

Other items included a cream leather armchair and even an artificial Christmas tree.

According to the BBC, Barrett's family said that the proceeds from the auction would go towards "educational development" in the art world.
