The singer, who is currently rehearsing for the upcoming shows, apparently thinks it will be the perfect opportunity for the pair to spend more time together.
She was first linked to Holloway earlier this month, with reports suggesting that they have been an item for four months. He has performed with Cole in the past, such as on her 2010 X Factor performance of 'Promise This'.
"She's really into him and taking him on board as a backing dancer on the tour was the perfect way for them to spend all their time together," a source told The Mirror.
"During her marriage to Ashley Cole, they had to spend a lot of time apart due to her commitments and his football matches. But this time around, she's taking no chances.
"She wants to see if it's something special and after four months together, she's excited about where things are heading. Nicola Roberts and Kimberley Walsh have met him and loved him - so she's got approval from the other girls.
"Cheryl's really into Tre. It's far more serious than it ever was with Derek [Hough]. Tre's really winning her heart right now and she's excited about it all. She's thrilled to be spending so much time with him and hopes it cements them as a couple."
Holloway is also being considered as Cole's backing dancer for the Girls Aloud tour, which is due to start early next year.
Cole will play 11 dates across the UK and Ireland in October, starting in Belfast on October 3 and ending with two homecoming shows at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.
