Gibson expresses sympathy for Richards

Mel Gibson has expressed his sympathy for comic Michael Richards who racially abused two hecklers at a comedy club.
Gibson, who was recently forced to apologise for making racist remarks following a drink driving incident, said that Richards was "obviously in a state of stress", when the incident occurred.
Richards has since apologised for the remarks.
He appeared on the Reverend Jesse Jackson's radio show and said that he had never used racist language before and that the outburst had been provoked by "humiliation".
The comic has recently started anger management classes.
