At the Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On Concert, Paloma Faith and Little Mix were just two of the acts performing. Members of the GB Olympic team were given the honour of switching on the lights.
In the capital, having spent the evening doing rehearsals, Rihanna emerged from a dance studio and was greeted by a group of fans. The popstar spent time posing for pictures with each of the girls, much to their delight. One Direction's Harry Styles, however, spent Friday night at Mahiki nightclub.
