Doherty fined for drug possession

Pete Doherty has been fined on five counts of possessing drugs, including grade A drugs crack cocaine and heroine.

Doherty, 27, who has been having treatment for his addiction, appeared recently at Thames Magistrates Court in London.

The ex-Libertines frontman was ordered to pay £770 and was disqualified from driving for four months.

The singer, who pleaded guilty at an earlier trial, is due to return to court early next year in order to review his drug rehabilitation programme.
