Alec Baldwin slams Hank Williams Jr: 'He's a senile, racist coot'

Alec Baldwin has criticised Hank Williams Jr for his controversial remarks about President Obama.

Williams caused uproar with his comments at the Iowa State Fair Grandstand last month.



"We've got a Muslim president who hates farming, hates the military, hates the US and we hate him," Williams is alleged to have said.

Baldwin has now taken to his Twitter page to criticise the singer, saying: "If Hank Williams Jr wasn't such a pathetic, wheezing fossil, I'd have a talk with him."

Baldwin added: "I think we need to call Hank Williams Jr what he is.... A broken-down, senile, racist coot."



The 30 Rock star also suggested that Obama would "be up by 17 points" if he was white and claimed that the government has helped the current financial climate.

"Certainly things could b better w this economy," he said. "But this admin'tion saved it from going off a cliff. What prevents some from seeing that?"

Nicki Minaj and Clint Eastwood are two of the stars who have endorsed Mitt Romney in this year's presidential race, while Obama counts Eva Longoria and George Clooney among his supporters.
