The comedian tweeted a picture to mark the occasion, showing Coldplay's Chris Martin and rapper Jay-Z.
Gervais wrote alongside the photo: "On a serious note, thank you so much to my 3 million followers. I'm celebrating with a couple of chums."
The star was rushed to hospital last week after experiencing abdominal pains. He was forced to delay the filming of his Channel 4 comedy Derek.
Jay-Z is expected to join Coldplay on the bill for the Paralympics closing ceremony this coming Sunday (September 9).
Coldplay are said to be performing alongside Rihanna at the event.
