The gold medal-winning Olympic gymnast will release the book - Grace, Gold and Glory, My Leap of Faith - in December, People reports.
The book is expected to focus on the 16-year-old's trip to the London Olympics, including her decision to leave her family at the age of 12 to train across the country.
"Even before I competed in the Olympics, I always wanted to write a book," Douglas said. "[It] will also be about how much my family and I have overcome during our journey. It hasn't been easy."
Douglas has previously revealed that she felt "isolated" in a Virginia gym and suggested that she may have been the subject of racism, allegations denied by the gym in question.
"Gabby Douglas shines even more brightly than her Olympic gold medals," said HarperCollins senior vice-president Lisa Sharkey. "The reason is her inner strength and strong faith."
Douglas appeared on stage with Alicia Keys at the MTV VMAs last night (September 6).
