Lindsay Lohan denies involvement with Tom Cruise 'Vanity Fair' piece

By
Lindsay Lohan has strenuously denied any involvement with a controversial Vanity Fair article claiming that the Church of Scientology auditioned girlfriends for Tom Cruise.

Vanity Fair cited insider sources in a story about the church allegedly attempting to set up actress Nazanin Boniadi with Cruise prior to his marriage with Katie Holmes. The relationship reportedly ultimately soured when Boniadi spoke about purported ill-treatment by church officials to a friend.

Cruise has insisted that there is no truth to the claims of girlfriend auditions, but apparently will not sue Vanity Fair.

Mean Girls star Lohan and Scarlett Johansson were named in separate reports as candidates also considered by the church to date Cruise at the time.

Lohan has responded on Twitter by denying that she contributed to these media reports in any way.

"I just want everyone & [Tom Cruise] to know, that I have/had NO part in the VF story.. Nor has anyone in my life, personal and work related," Lohan tweeted.

Earlier today, it was reported that 27-year-old Italian-Nicaraguan actress Yolanda Pecoraro was also one of two dozen women considered by the Church of Scientology to date Cruise in 2004.

Cruise's spokesperson has not yet responded to the latest allegations.
