Spears's parenting 'to be investigated'

An investigation is due to be carried out into Britney Spears's parenting skills, a report has claimed.

According to the New York Daily Post, the The Los Angeles Department of Children and Family Services - the equivalent of social services - wants to quiz the singer.

Officials are apparently concerned that she is not providing proper care to her two children.

"The department has been calling Britney trying to set up a meeting with her, so they can check on Sean Preston and Jayden James," revealed a source. "The calls started after this recent bout of bizarre public behaviour."

Spears's widely-reported partying since splitting from husband Kevin Federline are also upsetting her mother Lynne, the source continued. "She is very disturbed and has been trying to get a hold of Britney, but she can’t.

"Lynne, Britney’s brother, Brian, and her dad, Jamie, are very upset and are trying to stage an intervention with her manager’s help."

The pop star has been pictured at Hollywood bars and nightclubs with socialites Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan on several occasions since the split.
