The 23-year-old revealed on Twitter how a pram carrying her first child with new husband Thomas Cohen toppled over when it struck a "massive hole" in the pavement, but reassured followers that the little one "didnt get hurt at all or cry".
Various outlets have since run alarmist pictures of the incident, including one of Geldof still talking on her mobile after the pram toppled over, prompting her to return to the website and insist that she has made Astala "the happiest baby in the world", despite what the press have suggested.
"Thanks everyone for your sweet tweets. Im coming off here now as feel I said the truth," she wrote. "Papers & paps will always lie, but my babies...happy, smiling face in the photos they chose not to print say it all.
"If you want to see the happiest baby in the world just look at the...pics I post of him on here & instagram daily, pictures speak a thousand words and the words they pics of him speak are 'i love my mummy!"
Geldof said in an interview at her wedding this weekend that she hoped to teach Astala the importance of family.
She explained: "I know it might seem old-fashioned to some people but I love that Astala will know that his parents are together and have taken the vows we've taken today."
