The Mr & Mrs Biggs actress confirmed that she is currently a "singleton" but is hoping to find a "hot man" in the near future.
"I'm the singleton, always. I need to go and find a hot man," she is quoted as saying in The Sun.
"There are no dates on the cards. I just don't have time. I always think, 'Maybe once I have finished that job I will have time to go on dates', then I don't."
Smith is currently starring in the title role in Hedda Gabler at the Old Vic in London. She revealed that she has struggled with the 19th century costumes.
"There are a lot of undergarments — I can't imagine how they must have felt in those days, being pulled in like that by a corset.
"I'm going to be able to rest my chin on my boobs! We are lucky now that we don't have to do all that."
She added that she currently has no plans on trying to crack Hollywood.
"I think all actors would never rule it out. But I love being here and being near my family.
"Of course, if anything did come up I would probably give it a go.
"There are no plans. I think sometimes you can set your sights too high and it's just best to focus on each job and do your best.
"I never like to think, 'Oh, where would I like to be in five years?' I am just very grateful to be working! I am happy plodding and limping along."
