Although she continued to drive after her licence had been suspended, her car has now been impounded and she received a misdemeanour citation.
Lohan has now taken to her Twitter page to complain about Bynes's lack of punishment, although she did not mention the actress by name.
"Why did I get put in jail and a nickelodeon star has had NO punishment(s) so far?" she wrote.
Lohan later added: "These are the moments that I appreciate my life experiences, living without regrets and Disney for supporting me as an actress."
Bynes has pleaded not guilty to a charge of driving under the influence and also faces two counts of misdemeanor hit-and-run.
