Walters recently questioned Kardashian about the relationship on The View, asking her if she saw marriage and children in her future with West.
Kardashian responded: "Technically I'm still married. [But] anything I'd be in now would be a permanent relationship."
However, Walters has now told Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS-FM radio show that Kardashian's "people" were unhappy with her line of questioning.
"I think her people were having a fit," she joked. "We have a little thing in our ear that connects us to the producer, and the producer was saying, 'Her people are upset! Her people are upset!' I said, 'Well, how can you sit with her and not ask?' You would ask it, wouldn't you?"
Walters also revealed that she is often asked not to talk about certain subjects with guests on The View, explaining: "They say, 'Don't ask this and don't ask that', and you know what, usually we don't.
"If it's something they feel very strongly about, you know, 'Don't ask about my children, don't ask about my divorce'. But, I mean, how can you talk to Kim Kardashian and not ask about Kanye West?"
Kardashian and West have been dating for several months. They went public in April shortly after West rapped about his feelings for Kardashian on his track 'Way Too Cold'.
