Naomi Campbell has won the annual 'foot in mouth' award for stupid comments.

The title is dished out each year by the Plain English campaign in an effort to highlight nonsensical and confusing language.

The supermodel took this year's prize for a comment she reportedly made about classic English cuisine. She said: "I love England, especially the food. There's nothing I like more than a lovely bowl of pasta."

Rhodri Morgan, Wales' First Minister, who won in both 2005 and 1998, was nominated again but this year missed out.

His entry was: "But obviously the issue is that if you had another £450 million from somewhere else, you have got another £450 million, but what does that tell you? That is like saying, if my auntie was a bloke, she would be my uncle."

The campaign group also voted BBC Wales' X-Ray show as the Best Regional Television Programme for its use of plain and simple language.
