Marc Jacobs was the second most talked-about designer, with 8,813 mentions, followed by Diane von Furstenberg (8,608) and Alexander Wang (6,767), according to the Daily Mail.
The number of tweets associated with New York Fashion Week - using the hashtag #nyfw - doubled since last year's spring collections to 671,028.
Beckham has also been named favourite to win the 'Red Carpet Award' at this year's British Fashion Awards.
She recently attended Vogue's third annual Fashion Night Out in New York with Anna Wintour.
