The NFL star was in court today to announce a plea deal in the case stemming from an August 11 incident where he allegedly head-butted wife Evelyn Lozada.
Johnson has been sentenced to 12 months of probation, ordered to pay restitution and will also be required to attend a batterer's intervention treatment as part of his no contest plea, reports TMZ.
He has also been barred from any contact with Lozada for the length of his probationary sentence.
Lozada filed for divorce from Johnson in the aftermath of their allegedly violent encounter, insisting in court filings that their bond was "irretrievably broken".
Their divorce was finalised earlier this week.
Johnson was also cut from the Miami Dolphins as a result of his arrest and thus far remains unsigned for the NFL season.
