Martin Peckham was jailed for five years at Southwark Crown Court, London, earlier this month after threatening to take the heiress unless the money was paid.
Prosecutor Philip Lemoine called the 41-year-old's blackmail attempt an "amateurish attempt to obtain money from [Bernie] Ecclestone".
Speaking about the ordeal, Tamara revealed that being kidnapped has "always been my biggest fear".
"Someone was telling me my life was in danger and I was being watched by people. I felt physically sick," Ecclestone told The Sun.
The 28-year-old spotted a moped pursuing her days after the threats were made.
"The driver pulled up alongside and stared straight at me. I will never forget it. He stared for three to four seconds. Then he sped off," she explained.
"It doesn't matter if the threat is genuine or fake because the fear it generates is the same."
