Doherty in the clear over actor death
Peter Doherty is in the clear over an actor who fell to his death after arguing with the star.

Mark Blanco fell from a balcony in East London during a party at the flat of the singer's literary agent Paul Roundhill. They had argued earlier in the night and Doherty was still present when Blanco fell.

Detectives investigating the incident - which the actor's family believe was murder - have found no suspicious circumstances, according to the Daily Mail. They are said to be planning to close the investigation in coming days.

"Everyone at the party has been spoken to and no suspicious circumstances have been found," said a spokesman. "There is no suggestion a third party was involved. Nobody has been charged.

"We are continuing to investigate the incident, and once the officer in charge is satisfied, the file will be passed to the coroner. This could happen at the end of next week."

However, his mother Sheila and other family have insisted he would not have jumped. She explained: "We simply do not believe that Mark committed suicide or that his death was a simple accident."

"The family are not going to sit and take this. The police can't just wrap it up easily like that.

"There are lots of issues which still haven't been settled and the police can't simply accept the word of the people at the party, many of whom had been taking drugs. I am horrified."
