The singer-turned-actor recited a poem named 'Golf' by Randy Sabados on Thursday (September 27), with musical accompaniment by the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra.
In the poem, Sabados speaks of the multitude of emotions golf provokes in its devotees, saying that the sport is "never, ever the same from day to day".
Timberlake is serving as the first ever Team Ambassador for the United States during the 39th Ryder Cup, which is taking place this year at the historic Medinah Country Club in Medinah, Illinois.
Prior to his performance, the Trouble with the Curve star joked with the audience about his previous idea of remixing the poem and beatboxing to the words.
Timberlake then added: "Frankly, I wasn't really sure about Medinah's club policy on beatboxing, and then I figured probably none of you would even know what that is."
He also described the poem as "a player's love letter to this sport that we all love so much".
