Pop stars Geri Halliwell and Sting were among those artists who came to support Sir Elton.

X Factor judge Sharon Osborne, who has a role in the film, brought along her daughter Kelly, saying that husband Ozzy "has had enough of me right now".

Also attending the screening were fashion duo Trinny and Susannah, presenter Graham Norton and pop singer Jamelia.

The premiere was held in Leicester Square to support Elton John's Aids Foundation.
