The pair were photographed embracing at an LA club over the weekend, leading Aldean to publicly apologise to his family for the incident.
"The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar," Aldean wrote in an open letter. "I left alone, caught the bus to our next show and that's the end of the story."
Kerr has now offered her own public apology to Aldean's family in a statement obtained by TMZ.
"The actions I portrayed recently were not a representation of my true character, but a lapse in judgment on my part," Kerr insisted.
She went on to say: "I would like to sincerely apologise to everyone that has been affected by this, including my friends & family."
Aldean has been married for more than a decade to high school girlfriend Jessica Ussery. The couple have two daughters.
Kerr starred in American Idol's 11th season and has gone on to cheerlead for the NBA's Charlotte Bobcats.
