Morrissey says he is more deserving of inclusion in the New Year's Honours list than many recipients, according to BreakingNews.ie.
The 47-year-old admits he is unlikely to receive an honour after performing songs like 'The Queen Is Dead' for a number of years, but he objects to some of those named in this year's list.
"Just look at who has been honoured already," he noted. "Mad Irish singer Daniel O'Donnell has an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) and obese Jamie Oliver has an OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire)."
