Edmonds is listed alongside the latest Doctor Who actor David Tennant.
Other new entrants in the iconic compilation include 2003 Turner Prize Winner Grayson Perry and Dennis Lawson - the uncle of actor Ewan McGregor.
The list of 33,000 "noteworthy and influential" people, for the first time, also includes the other halves of those with civil partnerships such as Elton John's partner David Furnish.
