Battersby tops slimming DVD chart

Vicky Entwistle, Coronation Street's Janice Battersby, is topping the fitness DVD charts.

The soap star is selling nearly three times as many as her nearest competitor, Jade Goody, according to the latest figures revealed by Tesco.

Entwistle decided to produce Weight Off Workout after losing two and a half stone on her own diet and fitness programme.

Gemma Kirkham, from Tesco, put the actress's success down to the public's familiarity with her.

"British dieters are going crazy for Vicky's fitness DVD, which is streets ahead of the rest of the pack," she said. "Vicky appeals to ordinary people because of her fantastic weight loss recently.

"And because of her down-to-earth role in Coronation Street she's far more believable than skinny model types who used to bring out fitness DVDs."
