Beyonce to miss out on Oscar chance
Published Sunday, Jan 7 2007, 20:29 GMT | By David Cribb
Beyonce Knowles will be unable to claim her part on a possible Oscar due to the organisation's regulations.
The singer was hoping for a Best Song nomination for her Dreamgirls song 'Listen', but the rules state that only three composers can be recognised as contributors to any song.
According to the Los Angeles Times, the three names credited for 'Listen' will be writers Henry Krieger, Anne Preven and Scott Cutler by Academy Award officials, leaving Beyonce herself receiving no official credit if the song is to be nominated.
