Irwin wife: Death tape footage "destroyed"

All footage of Steve Irwin being killed by a stingray has now been destroyed, according to his wife Terri.

Queensland's state coroner Michael Barnes confirmed last week that the original tape of Irwin's death had been handed over to Terri when it was no longer needed for the investigation into the incident.

Asked in an interview for Access Hollywood whether she had kept the tape, Terri replied: "Oh no, all footage has been destroyed."

The episode of Ocean's Deadliest that Irwin was filming when he died - minus the footage of his death - will air in the US on January 21.
