Leona: I don't feel like a pop star

Leona Lewis has insisted she does not feel like a pop star - despite a best selling hit and the record industry's best efforts.

The singer has been enjoying huge new-found fame since she won The X Factor then rocketed to the top of the charts with 'A Moment Like This'. Arriving at the Brit Awards launch party she was reportedly flanked by a team of 10, including bodyguards, managers, PR staff and stylists.

Simon Cowell and record company bosses are said to be determined for her to become an established pop diva in the image of Mariah Carey or Whitney Houston. In February she is due to fly to Los Angeles with Cowell to work on an album.

However, Lewis has said she is determined to stick to her roots. She explained: "I'll never change my personality no matter what happens to me or what I'm surrounded by. I'll never be a diva, I'll always stay true to my east London roots.

"I don't feel like a famous pop star. I don't think I ever will. Since X Factor ended I've had loads of people around me who come everywhere with me, which is strange and it took a while to get used to it.

"But I've come to realise these people are all trying to help me," continued the star. "I've gone from being a normal working girl to this so it's a bit hard to take it all in."
