Sir Elton has been arranging a huge bash at Madison Square Garden in New York to celebrate his big day in March and was thrilled when Robbie came up with the stripping idea.
A source told the Daily Star: "Elton and Robbie have had their disagreements over the years. But they are best pals again now. And they always try to outdo each other when it comes to presents. Robbie knows this is one gift Elton will have difficulty living up to.
"But the pair love to shock each other so Elton will already be cooking up something bizarre for Robbie's birthday next month."
