Lizzie Bardsley has insisted that she has only ever lost her temper twice in her life.

The 33-year-old - famed for her outspoken behaviour on Wife Swap and Back To Reality - was speaking in court yesterday in response to allegations that she assaulted and ill-treated a young boy who lives close to her home.

"I've lost my temper twice in my entire life - fully," Bardsley explained. On her Wife Swap appearance, she added: "People saw me in an extreme situation and tempers did get frayed, but I don't use that type of language in an everyday situation.

"It's not like I go into a cafe and say, 'Can I have an effing cup of tea please'? I said tempers get frayed - I didn't say my temper got frayed."
