Take That top sexiest men poll

Take That have beaten Hollywood competition to top a poll of the world's sexiest men.

All the members of the reformed boy band were given joint first place in the survey of more than 10,000 women for NW Magazine.

They were closely followed by Daniel Craig, who was praised as the star of new James Bond movie Casino Royale.

Significant movers in the list include Brad Pitt, who was top last year but dropped to seventh and Pete Doherty, who fell from 18 to 100 thanks to his continuing controversial antics. The youngest entry was from Harry Potter's Daniel Radcliffe, aged 17, at number 82.

Another, more surprising, entry was of Chancellor Gordon Brown at 97 - the oldest man in the list at 55.

Editor Helen Johnston commented: "With regards to Gordon Brown sneaking in for the first time at 97th, power is undoubtedly an aphrodisiac, but we've seen a softer side to the Iron Chancellor recently and women definitely respond to a more human approach. But 97 is still a long way from No 10."
