Pop singer Brandy Norwood is reportedly being sued for $50 million over a car crash that left a woman dead.

Norwood was involved in a car accident at the end of 2006 after which Awatef Aboudihaj, 38, died in hospital from impact injuries.

According to Drowned In Sound a lawsuit for wrongful death has recently been filed by her parents, Aboudihaj Ahmed and Labridi, at Los Angeles Superior Court.

Grammy-winner Brandy has, for legal reasons, yet to comment on the issue.

The California Highway Patrol had earlier suggested that the singer should be charged with misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter.
