Alanis Morissette calls off engagement

Alanis Morissette has announced that she has called off her engagement to Ryan Reynolds.
The Canadian singer had been dating actor Reynolds for nearly four years, though they split for a brief period of time this summer.
A statement released on behalf of the couple explained: "Ryan Reynolds and Alanis Morissette have mutually decided to end their engagement. They remain close friends and continue to have the utmost love and admiration for each other. They ask that their privacy be respected surrounding this personal matter."
