Williams goes into rehab on his birthday

Robbie Williams went into a rehabilitation clinic on his 33rd birthday for his addiction to prescription drugs.

Williams, who was admitted to the US clinic today, has been in rehab a number of times prior to this instance both for drugs and alcohol.

According to the BBC, in a 2004 television interview Williams said that the only reason that he had decided to quit drugs and alcohol was because they had made him put on weight.

He complained that his dependency had made him "blow up to the size of a small aircraft hangar".
