Confusion over Britney 'rehab visit'

Britney Spears has come under scrutiny over a mystery rehab visit this weekend.

Rumours about the alleged trip started after US TV show Extra reported that the Crazy singer had checked into a treatment facility following criticism over her excessive partying.

TMZ.com later reported that rumours about Spears' visit to rehab were true, but claimed that she had checked out after just one day. A further report from People magazine's website named the facility as Eric Clapton’s Crossroads Centre in Antigua.

Access Hollywood has now claimed that the rumours are not true, without citing a source, while a spokeswoman for Crossroads refused to confirm or deny the story. There has so far been no official word from Britney's management on these rumours.
