Britney Spears' hair is reportedly on sale on an internet auction site, set up by the hair salon responsible for shaving her head.

Spears had the drastic image change at Esther's Hair Studio in California on Friday last week.

Salon owner Esther Tognozzi has now reportedly set up the website, buybritneyshair.com and intends to sell the locks for in excess of $1 million.

The site describes the chance as "an opportunity of a lifetime" and the hair as "absolutely authentic."

In addition to the hair, the auction winner will also receive the hair clippers used to cut Spears' hair, a blue lighter that the star left at the salon and a can of Red Bull that she was drinking at the time.

Tognozzi has said that some of the proceeds from the sale will go to various charities.
