Roman Polanski sex scandal teen to write tell-all book

By
The woman involved in Roman Polanski's sex scandal is to release a tell-all book, it has been reported.

The Rosemary's Baby director came under scrutiny in 1977 after he was accused and convicted of raping the teenaged Samantha Geimer during a photoshoot at friend Jack Nicholson's home.

Polanski pleaded guilty to one count of unlawful sexual intercourse, and was later sentenced to a 90-day psychiatric evaluation.

According to Yahoo News, Geimer, now 47, has a deal with Atria Books to publish her own memoir.

Titled The Girl: Emerging from the Shadow of Roman Polanski, the book will apparently show "insight into many dimensions of the story that have never previously been revealed".

In a statement released through Atria, Geimer wrote: "I am more than 'Sex Victim Girl', a tag the media pinned on me. My friends in junior high, scolded by their parents to stay away from that girl, also labeled me.

"I offer my story now without rage, but with purpose - to share a tale that in its detail will reclaim my identity."

Since leaving the United States, Polanski has continued to direct several films, including The Pianist and Carnage.

He will direct his wife Emmanuelle Seigner in a film adaptation of the play Venus in Fur.

The Girl: Emerging from the Shadow of Roman Polanski is due for release next autumn.
