Jason Luis Rivera was said to have jumped over the fence of Cyrus's home last month, armed with a pair of scissors.
Rivera was found guilty of trespassing and resisting arrest by a Los Angeles court yesterday (October 11), and has now been handed the maximum sentence that he could have received for the offences, TMZ reports.
Rivera is said to have refused any involvement with probation.
Cyrus had a temporary restraining order in place before the hearing, preventing Rivera from going near the singer and her home, but the order has apparently not been extended.
The singer and actress was reported to have dropped out of a television movie of the Bonnie and Clyde story this week. Her Two and a Half Men episode will air on October 17 on CBS.
