Hogan filed a $100m (£62.2 million) lawsuit against Gawker for publishing the footage. He is also seeking damages from Bubba the Love Sponge and the host's estranged wife Heather Clem for filming him in a sex act with Heather without his permission.
Bubba the Love Sponge responded to the lawsuit on his radio show on Tuesday (October 16) by calling Hogan a "self-centred" man and hinting that the wrestler may have released the footage himself.
"I'm gonna be honest with you, I have not seen the tape... including me supposedly bragging and being a horse's ass [about filming Hogan]," TMZ quotes Bubba as telling his audience.
"At the end of the day, I can't even comment on the validity... [Hulk] could have had something to do with the leak of it."
Bubba also suggested that Hogan consensually agreed to the sex act with Heather, insisting: "Nobody put a gun to [his] head."
Hogan has not yet responded to Bubba's comments.
The TNA wrestler has contacted the FBI in an attempt to find out who leaked the footage to Gawker earlier this month.
