Katy Perry, John Mayer enjoy romantic birthday dinner date - pictures

Katy Perry and on/off boyfriend John Mayer celebrated his 35th birthday with a romantic dinner date before heading off to The Box nightclub in New York last night (October 17).



The 27-year-old 'Wide Awake' singer wore an oriental floral print dress and a grey coat while Mayer donned a white shirt and a blue velvet bowtie for the occasion.



Earlier in the day, Perry treated the musician to lunch at the ABC Kitchen in Manhattan, with an onlooker telling the New York Post:

"It was hard to recognise them because Katy had a hat on that was covering her face. But she and John were alone, they were holding hands throughout the meal and they definitely looked like a full-on couple."



It had been reported last week that Perry had dumped Mayer "for good" following claims that he was unable to commit.

The pair began dating in July, with Perry previously being romantically linked to Florence + the Machine guitarist Rob Ackroyd.
