Debbie Reynolds has been released from a Los Angeles hospital.

The Singin' in the Rain actress was rushed to Cedars-Sinai on Wednesday (October 9) due to a severe reaction to medication.

Reynolds was forced to cancel all public engagements for the next three months due to her ill health.

Her publicist Kevin Sasaki has now told The AP that Reynolds was released from her doctor's care a few days ago.

She is now apparently resting at home in attempts to begin the long road to recovery.

Sasaki expressed hopes that Reynolds will be well enough to honour a scheduled appearance at the Rose Parade on January 1.

Reynolds - who is the mother of Carrie Fisher - is known for her roles in many classic Hollywood films of the 1950s and 1960s, including The Tender Trap, The Rat Race and How the West Was Won.
